For those grooving on climate communications — and in particular on the science of climate science communications — it doesn’t get much better than this.

The National Academy of Sciences on May 20 and 21 is sponsoring a “Sackler Colloquia” in Washington, D.C., focusing on “research in psychology, decision science, mass communication, risk communication, health communication, political science, sociology, and related fields.”

Registrations, at $150 a pop before May 7, and $250 after that date, are recommended soon.

American University communications professor Matthew Nisbet, one of a number of respected scheduled speakers, outlines the program in a recent posting at bigthink.com. He captures the energy and anticipation surrounding the session with these words:
